Sometimes you have to think outside the box, this is one of those situations. I have one of those little scooters that you can ride around town. I thought it would be great to install a backlight for my scooter. I liked the lighting kit because it came with waterproof LED strips. However, the flashlights were designed to be connected to a 12V source, e.g. B. the accessory connection of a car. I wanted these lights to be powered by a 5 volt DC USB rechargeable battery if you didn't know. To accomplish this task I had to convert 5 volts to 12 volts DC. That's where this converter comes in. All I have to do is connect the USB connector to the battery pack and plug the light into an outlet. The light strips come out nice and bright which shows it works great! There's only one problem. When you turn off the light, the battery feels like there isn't enough charge to stay on, so the battery turns off, which is what it was designed to do. Even though the battery is technically disabled, for some reason the RED power LED inside the converter is still dimly lit and is therefore consuming power in some way. This means that if you leave it plugged in, it will eventually burn up your battery. Just remember to unplug the converter from the battery when not in use and you should be fine. 4 out of 5 stars.
