The chain is just monstrous. The average thief lugging around a set of 36-inch port bolt cutters or smaller will aim for an easier-to-reach bike. I watched a video before buying or a locksmith used the best 42 inch bolt cutters on the market and it took me over 5 minutes to break the chain on one side. Due to the hardness of the chain, 2 cuts are required. We shoot the same video with a 4 inch grinder. About 50 seconds for each cut. That's about as good as any chain or U-lock.
