It seems good at first, but it keeps getting worse.

(See updates below this original review for updates.) This is a great little instant pocket camera if you use rechargeable batteries and don't mind charging them frequently. This is of course far from the quality of a DSL camera, but the price (especially with a discount) is significantly lower. The camera would not work in cold weather when all my other electronics were working properly. However, this was with the cheap batteries that came with the camera. However, the camera discharges fairly quickly from good batteries - faster than my other cameras. quality charger (i.e. I knew both batteries and charger were good) after only taking a dozen or so shots. So I called Kodak support and they told me the battery needs to be at least 2300 mAh (milliamps). So if you're using batteries and find that they're draining too quickly with this camera, check the mAh rating. The support lady suggested trying the new non-rechargeable (i.e. disposable) Energizer or Duracell batteries to make sure the camera is fine and the low mAh batteries are the problem. I asked why it wasn't mentioned in the documentation that came with the camera and she said it was because they didn't mention using rechargeable batteries. I am trying 2800mah batteries along with many others. It became clear that the camera had problems with the electronics. I got low battery warnings even with new batteries, but opening and closing the battery compartment made the camera work fine. And sometimes I got a message to reformat the memory card, although that was also normal and the error went away when I opened and closed the tray. Kodak quickly agreed to replace it under warranty but refused to pay the return shipping (about $8, the lowest price) which I think they should pay. Disposable batteries or 2300mah or larger batteries to confirm electronics are working. Update 07/15/2019: The camera is getting worse and worse. Kodak replaced my original but I had to pay for return shipping. The new camera has the same problems as the previous one. In addition, its sound recording is unstable. Recently I was at a music event where I took some short clips with the camera. Some clips have audio, but the vast majority don't. I just made a short test video and it has no sound. I listened to the recording file in several different applications and devices to make sure the problem was with the file itself, i.e. the camera, and not the audio recording. Therefore, I am now reducing the number of stars I give this camera back to the lowest possible level.
