Review on EZ-103 EZ Oil Drain Valve: Simplify Oil Changes for Seamless Maintenance by Eric Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

AS GOOD AS FOMOTO

I have used the same Fomoto oil drain valve on my last three Japanese cars and one European car and it has never leaked. It was passed down from car to car and used the same pad. I forgot to take it off before I sold my last car so I now have an EZ dump valve on my last Toyota and although it looks like die cast metal unlike the Fomoto which was all brass. The EZ seems very well made and even has a slight grip on the open grip that the Fomoto didn't have. The opener is also slightly easier to open. The only thing I would wish for is that it was a little faster and fuller. Leaving it open all night to drain drains the sump well, but sometimes I need a quick oil change. Since the worst oil comes out first when you open the valve, I don't worry too much about pouring out every last drop of old oil, but I do wait until it starts dripping every 10 seconds or so. SUMMARY. The EZ dump valve is worth the money. This speeds up oil changes and makes oil draining cleaner.

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
