Product arrived in a very nice box and presented in a form-fitting setting. If you wanted to give this knife as a present, all you have to do is wrap it. The knife, itself, is serrated and very sharp. This is my first ceramic knife, so I don't know how long it will last. But I assume that if I use it as it was intended to be used, it will last quite a while. However .The edge of the knife is serrated like a saw. When you use a saw to cut wood, it leaves a lot of sawdust. When you use this knife to slice bread it saws through the bread rather than slicing it cleanly, leaving a lot of crumbs. I have used it on a loaf of take-and-bake sourdough and on bagels. In both cases the knife tore rather than sliced. I prefer my old stainless steel bread knife with the scalloped edge. Even as dull as it is after having used it for almost 30 years, it still slices cleanly.
