This cap has a strong rubber smell and a coating that remains on hands with use - I have been using silicone caps for many years and have never experienced this problem. I believe there's another ingredient, maybe some latex, otherwise it wouldn't have arrived with this powdery residue that's put in a latex cap so it doesn't stick to itself. If you are allergic to latex I wouldn't risk it with this cap. At the same time, the structured ribs on the inside of the cap do their job - my cap no longer slips off.
