I upgraded from a Galaxy S7 gift by purchasing this. The phone itself cost roughly $65 at the time of purchase (wireless headphones were the only accessory available in a "white" store). The camera is the biggest letdown. The S8 no longer has quick focusing like the S7. Samsung's color reproduction was already lacking (it frequently oversaturates colors, goes red), but with the added soap from the focusing, it was absolutely depressing. Each for the collection. You need a Samsung charger, or fast charging won't be supported, so it's unlikely that an older charger will work with a new Samsung phone (apparently different standards for fast charging on Snapdragon and Exynos) Second, having good power (ideally 25 W) and a USB-C connector is not guaranteed even if an older Samsung charger is available. Thus, set aside 2,000 for the charger and another 1,000 for the cable ahead of time. From what I can tell, the one included in the kit is manufactured from recycled materials, and it's probably best if it stayed that way. We are planning to spend an additional $1,000–$2,000 on a jack adaptor or the least expensive wired Samsung with USB–C because there are no headphones. Wireless technology has its detractors (including me), and high-quality wireless devices may be pretty pricey. The camera's flaws aside, we paid the price of a budget iPhone for a smartphone that, in terms of features, is in the center of the pack but has subpar hardware. I'm utterly dismayed.
