After replacing the turbo due to bearing failure I wanted to add extra filter capacity. The thing is huge, it barely fits in, but it fits. The main benefit I see in using it is that due to its size you effectively increase the volume of the sump which is good for these 1.8 ton engines. I sent an oil sample to Blackstone Labs from my last oil change at 4500 miles. They specifically noted that the "oil filtration was excellent" values were less than 0.1% insolubles. If you are wondering if the mechanical performance of this filter is correct for 1.8T, it is. The filter has a non-return valve and the bypass pressure stage corresponds to Audi specifications for AMB 1.8T engines.
