I got these mostly for when I'm traveling by plane. I have varicose veins and these will help. I wear a size 9 shoe and the large fits me perfectly. They fit snugly but are very comfortable. These are obviously thicker than your average nylons, but I got the sheer and they are still semi-transparent, so they look like nylon stockings.
