The ends of these clips regularly fall off, rendering the product unusable. Tips are essential to ensure proper pressure on the work piece and continue to function to mitigate work piece scratches/damage. The problem doesn't just happen with one clamp size, although it seems to be worse with the two larger sizes. It speaks of an easy opening and closing. With each of the 3 sizes I have, the clips pop out randomly and get lost easily. (Note the photos above.) For comparison, I snapped a photo of a working alternate clamp I've had for years. Note the metal rivet holding the flat piece securely attached to the jaws. This design is imperfect and renders the clamp inefficient at best. At worst, these clamps will scratch the workpiece if the tips suddenly rebound.
