I remove the negative first. It is said that this can be used by both right-handed and left-handed people. The handle is designed to be used with either hand, but it is NOT left-handed scissors. While the handles are comfortable to use with either hand, the blades are designed for right-hand use. There are videos online that clearly show the difference, but it has to do with which blade goes up and which goes down when the scissors are open. On right-handed shears, the right blade opens up when the handle is opened. On left-handed scissors, the left blade opens when the handles are opened. This places the upper cutting blade where the user can see it. These are standard right-handed scissors with handles that are ergonomically the same for either hand. I wouldn't recommend buying them for left-handers; it will only lead to constant frustration. In addition, the scissors are well made of high-quality stainless steel. They come very sharp and ready to use. I really like the adjustable hinge screw that allows the user to tighten the blades together if they become loose over time. Unlike a simple bolt, the pivot bolt stays in place once tightened. Thick blades make cutting fabric an easy task. Great scissors for the price.
