I wanted something to protect the wall behind the lounge chair without installing the chair rail. I attached a piece to the top edge of the chair. Since it is transparent and the chair cushion is higher than the chair frame, it is hardly noticeable. It's a soft material, and since it's transparent, it shouldn't damage or stain the wall. Time will tell the effectiveness of testing this material. I also attached some to the back legs of the chair to keep it from sliding on the vinyl plank floor. It gave us a good first impression.
