Surprisingly good seam cutters for a small price. Yes, it's great to have a few on hand.

My sofa ate my expensive brass seam ripper so I went for something less expensive. They're surprisingly good, and the flat handle keeps them from rolling off the table (or the back of the sofa!). I always lose my tools when I get into a sewing craze so it's great to have a few pairs on hand. They are sharp so they can be used as a seam ripper. To do this, place the red dot at the bottom, lift the seam slightly and run the ripper along the entire length of the seam in one easy motion.
