Like. Converted Dell 7010 i7 3770. Picked up this 4-4TB Striped + Parity (RAID5) drive bay with ~9.83TB available redundancy on single failures. I buy refurbished WD 7200 RPM 3.5 SATA III drives for about $70 each. So around $400 for 9TB of storage. The writing time is considerable, the reading time quite good. Not that speed was my goal, the goal was volume and redundancy. But compared to that, it's like uploading large files to Google Drive. We hope that the memory upgrade will increase the data transfer speed. Adding a 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 1050 Ti 4GB 128-bit GDDR5 card cuts render times from 20 hours (CPU only) to just over an hour. I mention all of this because on a budget you can build a good box for big, heavy video work. As expensive as storage is, it doesn't have to be with this compartment. On day one I noticed that the two middle drives were running about 5 degrees hotter than the outer drives. Turned the fan on, now it's running within tolerance.
