I use Ultra Copper as a gasket, NOT in combination with a paper or rubber gasket. I do NOT use a pad in addition to Ultra Copper. DO NOT USE AS INSTRUCTED! I make sure ALL SURFACES are clean and free of grease. Then, using my finger, I apply a layer directly to the surface of the part to be attached (not the receiving surface). Let dry and apply another layer. After it is completely dry, I reattach the part to the receiving surface. As for me, I didn't have any drips, leaks or leaks afterwards. When using on oil pans, I apply Ultra Copper to the oil pan itself. When using on valve covers, I apply Ultra Copper to the valve cover itself. I always apply Ultra Copper to the part itself, not the receiving surface. CAREFULLY! This is a method I have used for many years and have never had a problem. It prevents the sealing material from being crushed or crushed (valve chamber, oil chamber, etc.). For liability reasons, this is NOT a recommendation, just an explanation of my approach. You must use your own common sense when using Ultra Copper.
