Anyone who has tried stainless steel straws knows they are amazing for about 3 seconds and then either too cold or too hot to hold in your mouth. haven't they been there forever? But the straws were a disaster. Unlike tumblers, they transfer temperature like it's their job and you end up getting frostbite or a 3rd degree burn on your lips. Not to mention you'll break your teeth if you stick one down your tasting hole too quickly. So I bought some flexible straws and a glass straw dispenser and put them on the counter. My wife likes to use straws, but I didn't bother. A person should drink directly from the vessel. And then I accidentally stumbled upon this new and greatest discovery since the cut lightbulb. How easy is the solution, why didn't I or ANYBODY think of it sooner? THE REAL REASON TO READ REVIEWS: They work amazingly. They are easy to clean. This set comes with a pair of different straw cleaning sticks and a nice carrying case. There is a good selection, although I would suggest using the largest only for cocktails or the like. I tried soda and wanted to choke. They can be used in any type of mug or glass, even the regular takeaway mugs you get at a fast food restaurant. I have a lot of stainless steel straws in my drawer so I also tried on the nozzles and their seat so next time I will order an assortment of nozzles so the ones I already have are useful too. Sea turtles weren't even in my universe when I was trying to figure out how to get fluids into my digestive system. But I guess you could call it an unintentional plus if you want to feel warm and fluffy.
