The Absolute Worst Metal Drill Bits

Not sure where to start. Most buyers seem lucky enough. At over $50 this is also a great deal on a range of large drill bits but far from the cheapest available here at Revain. So what was I expecting in that sense? Of course not professional quality. These beats do so much and more in one beat. However, being a "Cobalt" I expected that they would be able to drill three holes in a 3 inch galvanized pipe. Actually, that was the whole purpose of this purchase. Also, of course, it would be nice if something came up in the future to have such a set. I didn't use the entire kit to drill three holes. ). So from 1/8 inch and in small steps up to 5/8 inch. It was my largest metal drill. The pipe lay in the grass and did not roll your foot on it. Half inch heavy duty variable speed drill, lots of coolant and patience. is it easy you know But my hole was supposed to be 13/16". Damn. Nothing. That's where this set ended up in my Revain cart. Fatal mistake. I have pretty good eyesight (perpendicular to the surface in all directions) and a solid pair of hands when drilling Also, this is not a jewelry project Only one large hole is required, three to be exact Loaded with a 13/16" drill bit from this kit, cutting fluid on it and on an existing 5/8" hole Finished. First hole smooth as butter. It took more effort to get on the other side but I figured it was just the vibration of the drill in the top hole. Second hole: three minutes without progress. hmm Look at the drill and the corners are ROUNDED. What the.? Along the pipe? Serious? The second hole? I used the next smaller size, 3/4". Again, as before: First hole is fine. From my 5/8" to 3/4", no problem. Next hole: same story. Rounded corners, burned tip and edges, with visible grooves of pipe in BIT! Now I have a hole like I needed at 13/16". The second hole is at 3/4". The last hole is another 5/8". This set failed me after 1.5 holes, even those drilled from existing 5/8" holes. See attached pictures, with red arrows indicating a damaged drill bit with ONE hole removed from existing 5 /drilled 8" to 13/16" holes. "Called my friend, asked to borrow his Kawasaki 13/16" bit, rest of the drilling was done in less than ten minutes including coolant and bits, that I have EVER used on metal in my In the woods they may look better but why buy this set?
