Couldn't get it to work properly with Chromecast

Hi everyone, I thought I'd write this because I've been doing a lot of testing here. It's probably more of a problem with the Chromecast that it's a device. It seems to have worked, but with one big caveat. If you connect it to a receiver that accepts DD+ over HDMI then everything is fine and it will also output DD+ over optical. I know it says it doesn't support DD+, but it worked for me (I couldn't find a way to disable DD+ on the Chromecast. The problem is that Chromecast recognizes it when I put it on my TV via HDMI run does not send DD My TV is optically connected to an old receiver and sends DD over broadcast TV but will NOT allow it through Chromecast My plan B was to get DD over optical but Chromecast sniffs it out and sends 2 channels along Appendix I've even tried connecting it to a monitor with no speakers via HDMI but Chromecast doesn't bite it. If you're using this with a device where you can control what signal is sent it should work for you. I'd give up when trying to use it with Chromecast.

Pros
  • Toggle EDID button
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
