The toy works as advertised and my 8 month old loves it. She likes to put her hand in the puppy's mouth, play with shapes and listen to melodies and sounds. While she can stand and move, it would be nice if the pup had a button that could slow the reel down or brake it completely. As soon as she saw the handle, she used it to get up and tried to walk with it, but she was moving too fast for her tiny feet. This is definitely a toy that she will grow into and use for a considerable amount of time.
