To be honest I've never used stoners by themselves. After trying this thing, I never will! It's very easy! You load it 6 at a time (I made the stems vertical), click and voila! 6 pitted cherries! The shell slides out to pour out and the bones remain in the lower shell. Sometimes there was a hole in the bottom. No big deal and it was easy to spot. I halved them for the dehydrator. Highly recommended! I didn't remember if it was dishwasher safe so I just dabbed it with a soapy sponge and it was done.
