They attach to and remove from the key ring very easily. With multiple colors, each key can be tied to a different color for easy identification. They are secure but not bulky and don't take up much space. And the colors are beautiful and cheerful. UPDATED 9/2/21. Unfortunately after 3 months of daily use the color has fallen off and they look like $%*&! I am so disappointed. It was part of a personalized gift that was so nice, but now it's not. They should be powder coated, not painted.
