Fill in this blank. - Adhesives

Like many people, I'm always trying to save money. I'd rather spend $6 or so to try something before going to a store that will probably tell me to buy a new windshield. Anyway, for a small amount we bought a car that was generally in good condition, but on the day of purchase we noticed that the windshield was leaking due to rain. I was looking for the best sealing option and this Permatex was recommended to me. This is no ordinary silicone. It's very fluid, but that's not bad for this application. You need something that works in small areas. When I first applied, I was a bit reluctant. That does not work. The second time I went crazy to make sure I had enough to fill everything. I put the rubber pad back on while it was still fresh so it pushed into the hole even more. Wait another 24 hours for the product to set. Hit it with a high pressure hose and voila! No more leaks. I would recommend this for small leaks. I would think that for serious stuff a complete reprint or windshield replacement might be needed. Not to say you can't use it, just plan on getting some tubes. Also try it by filling it out again if it doesn't work the first time. The fact that it's a flowable silicone means it can go through some large holes and not seal them completely at first.
