Not sure what's going on as this replacement doesn't work with the unit like the original

It was almost impossible to find a replacement filter and after a few months I was able to get one. I can say it's identical in every way, but the device immediately screeches and buzzes along. It looks like it's going to explode so I took it out. Back to the beginning, and it's a lot poorer.
