Review on πŸŽ’ Optimized KAVU Rope Bag - Versatile Sling Pack for Hiking, Camping, and Commuting by Ron Collins

Great for left handers but not right handers

I love the pattern on this bag and couldn't help but try it! I hoped that it could replace my large backpack. Pros: It fits everything I usually carry with me: a wallet, a cosmetic bag, a small device case, several sets of keys, a cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) in a backpack. Trident Aegis pouch (bottom outer pocket was great for this). My Kindle or Fire 8 worked fine. I put a folding umbrella in and he climbed in too. It contains an amazing amount. Paperback or hardcover paper will work, I'm sure. The fabric of the tarpaulin feels strong but not stiff. I wouldn't use it in the rain though. Cons: I can't hang it on my right shoulder, only on my left. If I want to wear it on my back, the strap has to be on the right shoulder, which is weird. If you want to tuck it under your left arm to grab something from the larger main compartment that's fine, but the smaller compartment is inaccessible as everything inside falls out. I assume you're filming it to get this footage? It just seems very cumbersome to me. Because it is canvas and rope, it is also not easy to slip. A polyester sling bag might be better suited for this, but unfortunately it is also left-handed. I think I will send this bag back. My Ameribag HBB holds the same amount and can be carried on either shoulder.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Protection
