One of the few features of the split ring is the ability to return to the fully closed state after the keys have been installed. Unfortunately, these rings remain ajar after the keys are installed. This happens even with simple metal keys that only require a slight opening of the rings. Forget plastic-cased car keys - these rings remain slightly exposed and ready to snag pocket, fingers and car seat leather. The 'heat treated' claim suggests a higher yield strength of the material, but this clearly hasn't materialized. Below average quality at a slightly higher price deserves these 2 stars.
