I bought this last year to replace the filter on my 2007 Audi A4, it was the first time I've used a Wix filter on my Audi. I have always used OEM or Mann filters. At the time the install was OEM compliant so I had no complaints and the install was easy but there is one horrible issue I have to mention with this filter. As I removed the oil filter housing and began removing the cartridge, I noticed that the filter elements fell into a bunch of pieces when I tried to touch them. They sort of took me back, but I continued with the oil change. I got a job in the auto repair shop and I can say I've seen a lot of oil filters and have some experience. I didn't think anything of it until I installed a new cartridge filter. This time I bought a Mobile 1 filter to try. I couldn't set up the Mobile 1 filter properly no matter how hard I tried. Upon further investigation, the plastic/rubber end seals that were glued to the Wix filter became stuck in the upper oil filter housing and button filter housing. I was able to remove the gasket from the lower housing without any problems, but it took a long time to remove the upper oil filter housing. Instead of the 30 minutes I normally spend changing my engine oil and filter, I spent 2 hours figuring out what went wrong and removing the oil filter. I would not recommend this filter to anyone if I feel they are in the same position as me.
