System Specifications: 2 x E5-2650 2GHz hyperthreaded - 32 cores 64 GB RAM Dual GTX Titan X Graphics Cards While using traditional software, the advantage of multi-core is that all programs can be performed in parallel without causing any noticeable slowdown, as if there were only one core in use. Just learning to exit software after use is sufficient. Everything you throw at it will always fly. But, there is a minor drawback. Two xeons at 2 GHz can be as much as 1.5 times slower than a Core i5 at 3 GHz, costing $5,000 more. Single-threaded programs are particularly susceptible to this issue. Games. In games, stupidity is always in the air. Games can blur across the cores in any event, so the low frequency doesn't make much of a difference here, but otherwise you have full reign. The workload is distributed between two to four cores, with an additional core increasing it by a small amount. For gaming, an i7 processor and additional graphics cards are preferable over a Xeon server. Video card performance is considerably more crucial for gaming than having 8 or 16 processing cores. With finely tuned software, by which we mean software that always leverages every available core and any and all virtualizations. You can find 3ds Max and then all of a sudden ABBY FineReader. In the first case, calculations are straightforward: in 2022, the best i7 will only be able to reach speeds that are roughly 1.5 times faster than the maximum on two xeons (if I was not mistaken with the year, i7 without any overclocking). The noteworthy characteristic of FineReader is that it creates as many processes to recognize each page of text as there are cores. Now, you can really feel the pace increasing linearly, and you can see everything well. Regarding virtualization, I did not observe any notable differences; all I can say is that multiple virtual machines can be opened simultaneously without causing any kind of conflict. Memory and the number of CPU cores are the primary culprits for this. General observations While 2 GHz can be a distraction at times, it does have one clear advantage: the computer is quite quiet for its processing capacity. I also want to highlight the system's stability, but this is about more than simply the pros. Zero Blue Screens of Death.
