The clip has a 'one way' barb type thing so you can stick in it your tool belt pen pocket and draw the marker with one hand. The trick is to twist the marker as you're pulling and you waon't have the use both hands to pull the cap off. I use these in a professional setting and they are better.I'm not too sure about how long they last compared to Sharpies because Im still using my first one. I mostly wore the tip down because I marked on a lot of block but it's still working like new even with a worn down tip. I do wish the tip were much harder/more durable but it's no worse than a Sharpie and probably even a little better.
