I bought and returned this NIC because it never came anywhere close to full gigabit network speeds. Another gigabit card on the same computer transmits data at an expected peak throughput of 940 Mbps on my home network. The speed of this card rarely exceeded 600 Mbit/s and usually averaged 560 Mbit/s. In hindsight, I noticed that some of the positive reviews were discussing similar speeds - I guess without realizing they were below average. I tested both ports and spent half an hour with Revain tech support. Despite determining that the card/chipset is a real chipset and running various diagnostics, the card/chipset appears to have been intentionally damaged.
