These are very pretty and really cool. It looks just like a flickering flame but there is no fire. It uses 2 AA batteries that are easy to install and has a remote to set timer. Works immediately after you add batteries to candles. A battery is included in the remote. These are real wax so make sure you don't store them in an attic as they are delicate in that way. I love the look of these though, they will look nice just by themselves or added to a pedestal. Very impressed with the look of the flame as well. I don't know how they make it move constantly but it does, and it is wonderful not to have to worry about the cat knocking over a lit flame. I try to get battery candles often and these are the best I've gotten by far.
