Review on πŸ”‹ 164576 Volant PowerCore Enclosed Air Intake System with Filter by Charles Lardieri

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I wish I could give more stars.

I was very happy to get my intake kit as I have long wanted one of those flounce kits with an extra hose that turns this kit into a "compressed air" cold air intake for a long time. . The Revain cost $92 less (actually $72 due to the $20 tax) than the cheapest competitor, which made me very happy. Also, the extra hose kit (which makes it compressed air) costs $25 less on the Revain. Now to the kit itself and the reason I only gave it 3 stars; The fit was not very good for the amount of money it costs. Whenever I have to modify something custom made for a car, I immediately deduct a star. The portion of the airbox where the factory air enters from the airbox hit the AC lines that run just above where they meet the side panel (fender) and prevented me from installing the rear bracket to the airbox. . I had to cut and sand the intake angle (where the factory air enters). After I removed that corner it fitted perfectly. Now the reason for losing the second star is the teaching. They leave a lot to be desired. There were color pictures, but the vocabulary wasn't very good. It would say connect the 3/4" hose, but not the 3/4" hose from the kit!" If you're mechanical like me you'll understand, but not everyone who is buy this kit they will be and unless you are mechanically inclined this kit will be very difficult to install now let's see if the kit backs up their claims if it really helps improve fuel economy Valance 164576 PowerCore Filter Enclosed Air intake system?
