Review on Cable Siamese Combo Coaxial Litsted by Paul Barnes

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The problem is not the PVC coating.

I purchased a Siamese RG6/U cable as an upgrade to an already installed CCTV DVR system with plans for additional cameras. The cable uncoils from a heavy wooden spool very easily (as others have said) and to explain this the cable has memory with a tendency to rebound when uncoiled from the spool. Perhaps the only workaround is to have the two-person system unwind a predetermined length to try and remove stores, and one person pulls and the other inserts, eliminating cable kickback. Two person system, my wife was unhappy! This requires several repetitive actions of pulling the detachable cable, pulling out the memory, pulling, and then repeating, hopefully without kinks. I ran 100 to 200 feet from the basement to the attic on the third floor. I hope this isn't a problem with the cable's function; I already have PVC coated RG-59 Siamese cable with similar spacers with no problems, and I should probably just use the RG59. I haven't tested RG6/U yet. Curves and wired ENT tubes were more difficult than the PVC-coated RG-59. If the cable is pulled in pairs or more, the problem is compounded by the fact that the sheathing is not PVC. The sheathing is rubberized and therefore the cables do not easily slip against each other or surfaces and snag with many kinks and pulling problems. Running straight from point A to point B is unlikely to be a problem for most easy-to-install installers. The problem occurs when multiple cables are routed. It makes the day long. I'd rather spend more money for a better PVC coated cable. Time is money and a lot of time is wasted.
