About 6 years ago I bought two pairs of Toachi 2 sandals from Teva. They were excellent sandals and although they have become a bit sloppy over time I still wear my original pair. I was going to get a second pair but now I need a larger size due to dropped arches. I don't like velcro so I bought Teva Tanway sandals. While they offer a comfortable fit, the outsole feels noticeably inferior to the Toachi. Also, the Tanway sole is much wider than the Toachi because the base of the straps attaches to the top of the sole instead of the side. In comparison, tanway look like oversized clown boots. But my biggest criticism of the Tanway is that the buckle's velcro strap is too long, causing the velcro end to stick out like a duck's tail. With so few sandal makers making plain buckle sandals, it's a shame that Teva has reduced the quality and design of these sandals.
