I bought these sandals primarily for kayaking. In general, kayaking requires water shoes/sandals with good grip on the soles. Take-off and landing can take place on slippery surfaces. It is also important that the insole holds well so that the foot does not slip in the sandal (especially when it is wet). For the price, my expectations weren't very high, but I figured if I just wear sandals for kayaking (I go 2-3 times a week), it's enough. However, I wear these sandals almost every day. Overall I am pleasantly surprised with the quality, comfort and overall performance of these sandals. My only issue with sandals is the fit. I'm a size 10.5 and bought a size 11. I think the sandals are actually 1/2 a size too big. It's not a big issue and I'll live with that, but I wish I had a better fit.
