Review on Mudder High Torque Quartz Clock Movement with 250 mm/ 9.8 inches Straight Hands - Silvery by Onur Donovan

UPDATE: less than 4 months later this movement has died. It was starting to lose time, so I assumed the battery was the culprit; but no, with a fresh battery it got slower and slower until it stopped moving altogether. I have a feeling this mechanism is labeled "high torque" but actually isn't able to move those long arms without breaking. It is a pity! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have one of those giant DIY wall clocks and the mechanism inside has finally given up. I knew I needed a high torque mechanism to move very long hands, so I gave this inexpensive motor a try. Although this movement is performed by hands and other parts, I just used a black box with a motor and only one of the washer elements; I reused my existing arms and decorative engine cover. I really liked the modern look of the hands on this movement, but they weren't long enough for my watch. Just like the original motor that came with my watch, this one was tricky to build. If you don't have enough space between your hands, they will bump into each other and not move properly. The watch hands must also be balanced and light enough for the movement to work. It took a little time and patience, but I assembled mine and hung it back on the wall.
