Review on πŸ’ͺ Powerful MSI Geforce 210 1024 MB DDR3 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card for Superior Performance - MD1G/D3 by Chucky Hepler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The dual monitor DELL XPS 8700 works great, but there's a trick. No more black screen and 5 beeps.

DELL XPS 8700 Windows 8.1 This card works great with dual monitors. But you need to go into BIOS and disable Safe Boot Mode. When setting up, I used the integrated graphics. I used an HDMI connector (it has a plug, just unplug and plug into your HDMI TV or monitor). Take out the graphics card. Reboot your computer and press F2 when you see the Dell splash screen. Now go to BIOS and change the setting to disable secure boot mode. Shut down and restart your computer. Now turn off your computer and insert your new graphics card, connect your HDMI TV and monitor and restart your computer. Now you should be ready to go. BLACK screens and 5 beeps! I started out assuming that I could just plug and play. But I ended up with black screens and got 5 beeps. People kept saying that 5 beeps meant the battery on the motherboard had failed or needed to be reinstalled. This is when instead of 5 beeps you keep hearing 5 beeps and then stop. Luckily I was able to get my old card back to do my research. I didn't know my DELL had a built in HDMI port until I started switching cards. I had a hard time getting rid of the drivers that I downloaded from the start, I used the CD that came with the card. But with the drivers loaded, the method described above does not work. First I had to remove them, which I couldn't do without the card and couldn't see the screens when the card was connected to the motherboard. I ended up updating my computer to the date I didn't buy a graphics card and was able to start over. I've been using this MSI Geforce 210 for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. I didn't want to spend a lot as I'm not a gamer. I just wanted to be able to watch movies on the big screen.
