Best Projector Under $1000

This is my second Epson projector. I literally spent months studying lumens, contrast ratios and many other things. The turning point, or rather the deciding factor for me, was the price drop from 999 to 799. On arrival I replaced my old Epson projector with this one. It was clear from the start that a higher contrast ratio makes a big difference, regardless of light output. This projector doesn't come close to the 4000 or 5000 lumen projectors I've looked at, but it really doesn't matter when the contrast ratio is that high. I used to have to close all the blinds, all the doors, all the lights, basically everything had to be as dark as possible during the day to see another projector, especially if it was showing a night view or a dark scene. This allows me to leave windows wide open, doors wide open, and I can still see night scenes in TV shows and movies clearly. Don't get me wrong, it's not as bright as a TV, but it's bright enough to see what's going on and not guess. This projector is probably the best option for a sub-$1,000 projector. I've never experienced rainbows because these projectors just don't do it, but I was tempted by BenQ's higher lumen outputs. Now I don't care because I understand it's all about contrast ratio, not lumens.
