Review on BCI Crafts T4ARROW Salvaged Arrows by Heather Shaw

Visually Striking

These striking metal arrows are the final addition needed to decorate a Native American cultural artifact. On a visit to South Dakota in 2005, I bought a beaded Lakota necklace featuring the Sioux tribal flags of the Pine Ridge Reservation. As a striking display of contemporary Native American art, I have chosen not to wear it, instead displaying the piece in a 10" x 12" photo frame. When I came across these craft arrows it occurred to me that if they enhanced the display of authentic Lakota art I would use them to complete the necklace display. I was won over by the size and artistic expression of the arrows, so they are now placed on the ledges of the wooden frame with pleasing results. Together with the necklace, these arrows and two finely carved bone feathers create an impressive composition and spectacular decoration. Arrows and feathers amplify and add to the cultural beauty of Native American crafts.
