Review on πŸ§— SCARPA Men's Vapor V Rock Climbing Shoes: Ideal for Sport Climbing and Bouldering by William Stewart

Revainrating 5 out of 5

second pair of mid-height solid sneaker

I am a woman who wears size 8.5 outdoor shoes and the 40 Vapor V (men's shoe, this shoe) fits me perfectly. They last a reasonable amount of time before wearing out at the toes; I worked with the first pair for a year and climbed about 8 hours a week in the gym. I have wide forefeet (bumps) but a rather narrow heel. My toes hurt on top the first few uses, but my shoes and feet quickly adjusted. I take them off when belaying, but I can leave them on for an hour or so when bouldering. They're great for hooks, I have no problem balancing on tiny feet, and they're also flat enough to smudge easily. The only thing I rarely do with them is the heel hooks; Consider a more aggressive shoe next time you're bouldering, but for a versatile athletic shoe, they're hard to beat.

Pros
  • Suede In Spades | A micro-suede upper with reduced tongue volume keeps the shoe flexible, while a suede base conforms to your foot for all-day comfort.
Cons
  • Not the best
