Description of πŸ§— SCARPA Men's Vapor V Rock Climbing Shoes: Ideal for Sport Climbing and Bouldering

Vibram XS Edge (3.5mm) sole. Versatility In Form | Built with a moderate downturn and slightly asymmetric profile, the Vapor V blends performance in steep terrain with the sensitivity and comfort you need when the angle eases off. Suede In Spades | A microsuede upper with a reduced tongue volume keeps the shoe supple, while a suede foot base conforms to the shape of your foot, providing all-day comfort. Vibram XS Edge Rubber | Stiff enough to let you stand on the thinnest edges, the XS Edge outsole pairs nicely with the softer M70 rubber in the heel for a shoe that can handle everything from short, technical boulders to long, vertical headwalls. Flexan Dynamic Midsole | Offsetting the softer upper, the redesigned Flexan midsole is slightly stiffer, offering plenty of support and reducing foot fatigue on multi-pitch routes. Bi-Tension Rand | Using a reverse slingshot design, this system connects your heel to your toe, resulting in less foot discomfort and more power being driven towards your primary edging surface.

This is an amazing mid-range sneaker

This is a cool intermediate shoe. This was my second pair of climbing shoes and I wore them from six months into my sophomore year of climbing. I've used them both indoors and outdoors. The XS Edge rubber is nice and durable as I still had bad footwork when I first started using them. At first I had a bit of pain in my Achilles tendon, but that may have been because I resized it a bit tighter. They were recently retired in favor of a newer version of the Vapor V that I really like. Street shoe…

Pros
  • Versatility in Shape | Built with a moderate lean and a slightly asymmetrical profile, the Vapor V combines performance on rough terrain with the feel and comfort you need when the lean angle drops.

second pair of mid-height solid sneaker

I am a woman who wears size 8.5 outdoor shoes and the 40 Vapor V (men's shoe, this shoe) fits me perfectly. They last a reasonable amount of time before wearing out at the toes; I worked with the first pair for a year and climbed about 8 hours a week in the gym. I have wide forefeet (bumps) but a rather narrow heel. My toes hurt on top the first few uses, but my shoes and feet quickly adjusted. I take them off when belaying, but I can leave them on for an hour or so when bouldering. They're…

They fit well on moderately wide feet. Perfect toe feel. Great edge!

When I first tried these shoes on I thought they would run small. I tried 42.5 and they first damaged my little finger on the outside. My big toe was a perfect fit, as was my heel. My feet are moderately wide so fit was important. I tried 43 and immediately realized there was too much room in the toe and heel. I returned to 42.5. When the shoes were warm, I tried them on this time. They fit like a glove. These are my first pair of mid-range sneakers but they are amazing! You need a little time…

Pros
  • Vibram XS Edge | The XS Edge outsole is tough enough to keep you planted on the flimsiest of edges and pairs beautifully with the softer M70 rubber in the heel to create a shoe that can handle anything from short technical boulders to over long vertical headwalls.
