Give time to work!

My otherwise very obedient cat suddenly decided to pee in my basement. WTF!$#%&!Don't worry, he's healthy, vet checked and there is no apparent reason for the TEMPORARY misconduct. Oh my god, please let this be temporary! Well I had no idea where exactly the smell was coming from. I walked around the basement many, many times trying to figure out where the smell was coming from but to no avail. I was hoping to find a treat, but that was impossible because I couldn't pinpoint where the smell was coming from. I turned to Amazon for help. After reading many, many reviews I decided to give this product a try. I love their enzymatic stain removers for the occasional household accident and am happy to have stayed with this company as I have had very good results with their products in the past. I have a carpet cleaner (shampoo). Cleaner instructions say to mix 2 ounces of cleanser with water in a dispenser. When I first cleaned a carpet, I chose 2 oz. I cleaned the carpet thoroughly and let it dry. The smell was absolutely TERRIBLE (much worse than before the solution was applied) once the carpet was dry. The enzymes were working hard to break down all the stinky cat pee that had soaked every inch of my basement, but I didn't know the process yet. When the carpet dried the smell lingered, it was just awful! After about 24 hours of drying, I ventured back into my basement. HOLY MARY, MOTHER OF GOD. stink! I choked, almost puked into my mouth, and immediately refilled the carpet cleaner with a stronger solution, this time 4 ounces of water in a dispenser. I "washed" the carpets thoroughly again and let the enzymes do their job. For a good 24 hours it stank again while the enzymes worked their magic and the carpet dried. After the second shampoo and drying for 24 hours, the smell got a little, and I mean a little, better. Take 3. I challenged the smelly basement again and poured 6 ounces of solution into the carpet cleaner (three times more than Hoover recommended). I cleaned the carpet like hell, hitting all areas twice and prayed to the gods it would work. 24 hours later. it still stinks! 36 hours later. still stinks, who the hell do I call to get this stink out of my basement? It's disgusting! 48 hours later. I think it could get better but I'm not sure, maybe I'm just getting used to it :(. Hey friends, can you guys come and let me know if my house smells awful? lol. I'm out for the weekend , came home another 48 hours later and walked through the front door feeling nothing (yes, it was THAT bad.) With cautious optimism, I ventured down the stairs to the basement. The smell was GONE.Not a single odor!. The smell of cat pee has left the building!A week later I'm here and the stench is still banned from my basement!Moral of the story: IT TAKES TIME TO WORK, LONG TIME!These little enzymes last a long time after they're applied The smell can get WAY BAD before it does Thanks to Nature's Miracle for another great product for animal lovers everywhere!
