Good Pliers: A GearWrench 82175C 8” Pitbull Dual-Material Slip Joint Pliers Review

I’ve wanted to organize and clean out the garage for years, and the pandemic provided me the time to make significant progress. This has included going through pieced together tools and replacing well-used or lower quality items. I have an old pair of 6” red-handled pliers that have survived years of use, but the plastic-coated handles are deteriorating. When I saw the GearWrench 82175C 8” pitbull dual-material slip joint pliers, made in Vietnam and finished in Mainland China, I quickly chose to review them. These well-designed pliers are sturdy and work as expected. The handles are comfortable to hold and include a soft toothed grip. The jaws have a good grip depth range and can be used for cutting wire. The only feature I want is a simple method for hanging on my pegboard. These pliers are a good replacement for my well-used red-handled pliers and have more features. If you’re looking for a new pair of pliers, the GearWrench 82175C 8” pitbull dual-material slip joint pliers are a great option to consider.► PROS:Deep shear wire cutter reduces the effortCrosshatch jaw tooth designErgonomic handles increase comfort and safetyGrip Zone handles protect finishesMeets or exceeds ASME requirementsLimited lifetime warranty► CONS:None I could find
