Has a good bounce to it.

Great price for a great product! My husband loves it! He just ordered another one for a coworker that likes it too. The cross peen may be difficult to sharpen or maintain over time.

Pros
  • Awesome hammer, I use this everyday for HVAC work.
Cons
  • The cross peen may be difficult to sharpen or maintain over time

The head is barely attached.

The head seems to be fine, the handle appears to be pine and is not set with a wedge of any sort. There’s epoxy on the tip of the handle but does not hold at all. The one I got had the head fly off on the second swing. If you buy this go ahead and get a proper handle and wedges to go with it.

Pros
  • I loved it
Cons
  • The cross peen may produce an uneven texture on certain types of metal

the hammers glue did not hold the hammer together it came apart on my second use very disappointed and a waste of money The soft grip handle may rip or tear if it comes into contact with sharp edges.

Pros
  • What I was looking for
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may rip or tear if it comes into contact with sharp edges

A Good hammer on my review.

It's a good blacksmithing hammer not the best but it good and the price is really great. If the head is loose fix. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Works great
Cons
  • The hammer head may become loose with frequent use and need to be tightened

Revainrating 1 out of 5

It came already wiggling off the shaft.

Used for about 5 minutes and already started coming off.only the rubberized superglue stuff on the top is holding it on and thats just unstable.

Pros
  • Have always used higher pricce hammer this one just as good would buy it again
Cons
  • The cross peen may cause unwanted dents or scratches in certain types of metal

If you're looking for a great hammer this isn't it.

The hammer head is excellent on this hammer, the handle is why I only gave it 3 stars, after about 10 swings on soft orange hot metal the handle cracked at the very end farthest from the head (which makes no sense to me) . The hammer is still usable, but it's also loose in the handle itself, the epoxy they put on it does nothing but make it harder to re-handle.All said it was only 17 bucks and I will put a new handle on it and it'll be good for years. Just expect to have to put some work into…

Pros
  • Love it use it all day
Cons
  • The hammer may not be suitable for all skill levels, particularly beginners

Epoxy is just for show, hammer is not usable

The epoxy at the top of the head is just for show. It does not actually go around the handle at all. The only thing holding the handle to the head is a very thin flexible silicone type substance in a ring around the bottom of the head. The handle is improperly sized for the head and it just rests onto a tiny flap of plastic on the side of the handle.I didn't even get a dozen light hits out of this before the head fell to the ground. Given the slab of epoxy at the top of the head, this will be…

Pros
  • Its a very comfortable hammer to swing and a great value for all you tin knockers out there.
Cons
  • The weight distribution of the hammer may not be optimal for all types of forging

Great for stone in my review

Great hammer for stonework. A thicker handle would be better for grip, and the head is starting to wear after a month of use, but the shape, weight, and balance are great for shaping and dressing stone. Great hammer for the money.

Pros
  • Fills good, good weight and handles good..
Cons
  • The hammer may not produce enough force for larger or heavier projects

Hammer head flew off on first use

Hammer broke off on first use. This is not a continuous piece so there was a point of failure at the joint of the neck and hammer. Low quality, don’t recommend.

Pros
  • Feels good in the hand well made top quality hammer
Cons
  • The cross peen design may not be suitable for all types of metalwork

Great multi-purpose hammer for soft to 1/2 hard metals

Excellent product just the right weight. I can use one side to create an unusual pattern and the other side to Simply hammer. Perfect for 16 to 20 gauge metals.

Pros
  • It is getting used right away. This is a good sign that it is a nice little addition to the tool box.
Cons
  • Broke in 30 minutes

Head fell off - my new review

At first it seemed like a good hammer that needed some face dressing but then the head flew off while working on my anvil. The top of the handle is poured with epoxy and it broke out quickly. For the price I guess I can't complain too much.

Pros
  • Good price on a great smithing hammer.
Cons
  • The handle may be too small for people with larger hands

Needs quality control

As mentioned many times in the other reviews its not great quality. Out of the box the head was loose and with a few test taps I was able to pull the head off completely. There was an "epoxy" filling the top portion of the head where the handle wasn't seated properly. I removed the epoxy and cut the handle slightly shorter to accommodate the size of the hole better. After reinstalling the head i also installed a proper wedge and it seems to be on tightly now. The edges do need to be dressed as…

Pros
  • Starting out knife Smith. Great cheap way to fill up you're a hammer bucket
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may not hold up well in extreme temperatures

Comfotable to use !

Comfort and I like the weight for what I use it for ! I had a similar hammer but it grew some legs and walked off ! Hope this one don't have that ability !

Pros
  • Basic sledgehammer not especially tool at all.
Cons
  • hammer was alittle loose had to adjust the head to be tight other than that not bad for price

Great for a few projects

I can say that I bought this with great intentions to use for an extended amount of time. Oh was I so naïve.i brought this into my beginner bladesmithing classes thinking it was a solid deal. It very quickly became apparent that the edges are so indented that they will make impressions into your material that you're working with, the handle contorting is borderlne acceptable, and the small spaces that are present after they assemble it at the factory from a not-so-perfect fit are sealed with…

Pros
  • Works well for light blacksmithing work.
Cons
  • The cross peen may be too sharp, causing damage to delicate or intricate metalwork

Was great until.downgrade to 1 star after updated review

This hammer was great until the head flew off.used it several times for smithing metal.only had it for about a month.the barrel wedge had cracked in two.the top of it was still in the adhesive glue stuff in the head at the top of the hammer.the rest of it was still in the handle after the head flew off.I reattached the head and put some wedges in it myself.it's still a great hammer but can't give the maker 5 stars due to the quality of their work.the hammer gets 5 stars if you mount the head…

Pros
  • Nice weight
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may be too thick for some users to grip comfortably

Revainrating 1 out of 5

DON'T BUY! A couple swings and the head broke off.

I bought more than 1, have only used 2 and both heads have broken off. Just a matter of time or using the others before they break.

Pros
  • I love this things it's great for small work.
Cons
  • The hammer may be difficult to control or aim accurately

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth every penny, give it a go 👌🏼

Very solid hammer, smooth edges and well built! For the price it is worth every penny! I do wish the handle had just a little more weight to it for a more rigid feel but this hammer should last years no problem before I do break it and I’m very brutal on my tools

Pros
  • quality tool and great price!
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may not provide enough traction for some users

Great price: my feedback

I’ve been in Sheetmetal for 9 years. This is my go to hammer on the daily. It’s super comfortable and light. I recommend it to anyone who needs a hammer… mostly because of price and durability.

Pros
  • Solid hammer
Cons
  • The hammer may not be well balanced, causing strain or fatigue during use

Local 36 StL Commercial Sheet Metal Worker

Very comfortable hammer. Feels super comfortable. Fiberglass handle absorbs mostly all of the blow.Only had for about two months so not sure on durability but seems to be holding well so far.

Pros
  • It works great to do metals job
Cons
  • The soft grip handle may wear out over time with frequent use

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Light weight easy to hold and swing.

This is a light weight hammer great for small delicate jobs. I have heard it said more than once "get a bigger hammer" by many people over the years. I forge steel and I find some times you just need a lighter hammer.

Pros
  • Weighted well.
Cons
  • The cross peen may cause unwanted markings or damage to the metal surface
