This hammer was great until the head flew off.used it several times for smithing metal.only had it for about a month.the barrel wedge had cracked in two.the top of it was still in the adhesive glue stuff in the head at the top of the hammer.the rest of it was still in the handle after the head flew off.I reattached the head and put some wedges in it myself.it's still a great hammer but can't give the maker 5 stars due to the quality of their work.the hammer gets 5 stars if you mount the head properly onto the handle.UPDATE.after repairing the head falling off the hammer worked well for a few more blacksmithing sessions.until.the handle developed a fatal crack.I get it.it's impossible to know that a certain handle will break or perform well.this is a review of one hammer from this seller.and it has not performed as a new hammer should under minimal responsible use and has cost me repair time twice already.this hammer is now like a great dog that is perfect except that it barks non stop all night every night
