Geometry not the best for keeping ring in place. Plier fittings that hold the ring are to loose. OK set, but if you have a problem location, I think you will be dissatisfied. You get what you pay for.

The variety of pliers allows for great versatility but the individual pliers themselves are relatively cheap feeling. They get the job done better than lowest quality but not quite snap on quality

The flex shaft is a little weaker than I expected but it does work. It struggles a bit on the larger radiator inlet and outlet hose clamps and you have to really put some muscle into it. I’m not sure if it will have a long a long life or not but if you’re not using it daily/weekly you should be fine

Overall the set is good for the price, the pliers with the cable for reaching hard to get to clamps are not quite as strong as they should be, had to modify them slightly to get my clamp to release. And the bracket that fits the clamp is bulky.

Perfect for a backyard / part time mechanic. I’ve used them on three vehicles so far and no issues. If you want top of the line for every day use, buy Snap On. If your looking for something to ocasionally change radiator hoses to save a few bucks, this kit has worked very well for me.

I like the features of having the tool, but they are not the easiest to get into tight places. The one recommendation would be to have a longer handle as you have to open it up to release and typically in a car you do not have the space.

I bought this set for the plier that is used for flat band spring clamps. This plier didn't work on any of the dozen or so clamps on my vehicle.the plier just doesn't close down enough to allow the clamp to pass over the tubing bead. I tried the cable plier and the flat clamp is too large to fit into tight places. I had better luck using common duck-billed pliers, used sidways.I cannot comment on the remaining pliers. Hence, the 2-star rating.

I bought this kit for a VW I was working on, that had a million hose clamps. The kit is an AMAZING value, something like this would cost hundreds on a tool truck. The only complaint I have is that the long one is not very strong. You can’t compress the stronger hose clamps with it, because it’s just not that strong. Other than that, the kit is amazing and definitely happy I bought it.

Works great IF you can get an unobstructed angle to get to hose clamps. If not, they're not much help. The pliers set at a 45 degree angle would be much more useful if you could change the tips to match both the style AND orientation of the particular clamp.The hard to reach clamp with the cable would be better if there were more ratchet teeth. This is a great set for the money it you plan to take one hose clamp off once in a blue moon and don't mind having to reassembly these clamps every time the retainer ring pops off. that is of course assuming you can find the super small thing!
