I was changing a water pump on the Escalade and tried to remove the factory hose clamps with channel locks and knipex pliers. I destroyed the clamp and decided to get these pliers to remove the hoses. It turns out that I didn't need the long cable pliers so I can't say how well they work in a tight spot. I did play with them afterward and they worked and ratcheted just fine. The short pair fit and I used them to remove all of the clamps. I tried the hose separator pliers and fell in love. I've always broken the bond with a screwdriver and twisted the hose off but these saved all of the twisting and damage to the plastic radiator. The pliers seem to be good quality, but the screwdriver is laughable. Replace that and you will have a quality set for sure.
