Great Tool in my review

I bought this for etching panel lines in plastic models and it works great. It allows me to get deep lines in the doors, trunks and other panel areas in minimal effort.

Pros
  • Scribers
Cons
  • The magnet may be prone to demagnetization over time

A useful addition to the toolbox

These scribes are great items for your home and workshop. They work well on metal and plastic and can make pilot holes in wood for small drill bits. The fine point makes a line that's more precise than marker or pencil.

Pros
  • They did the deed; I do art. It worked amazing and it was a Great gift!
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide tip may scratch some surfaces unintentionally

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does what I need, but feels a bit light.

It does a good job and the tip seems like it'll last me quite a while. The pen is very light weight aluminum. I guess I was expecting something a little more weighty but that's just compared to what I've used in the past.

Pros
  • It works well. The tip is sharp and makes a very nice scribe line.
Cons
  • The pen may not work well on rough or porous surfaces

Nicely done in my review

Well centered point and the magnet is reasonably strong, I was able to pick up a alkaline "D" cell with the magnet. The tip is easily reversed to protect it, but I would suggest you lubricate the threads. I also used the unpointed end to burnish a knife blade that worked very well.

Pros
  • It’s a good product
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide tip may leave behind shavings or debris

so far nothing better for scrimming in my experience

They are what they appear to be. The price seems very low, and I love the extra tips. Personally, with large hands, I would also order one with a larger diameter handle. I've scrimed a little with this type of tool and don't recall finding anything better.

Pros
  • Top quality. I use it to get out my aggression.
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide tip may wear out quickly with frequent use

Great, but fragile.

This works great. I am a tradesman who trysts a lit of different things out and while I use it little, it does a fantastic job. The only issue is the brass like magnet on too looks cockeyed and almost wedged into the top of the pen. Also, do not let this fall out of your hands while on a ladder. One of mine fell and hit the magnet. A portion if the magnet literally shattered. It's all cleaned up now though but it is fairly fragile. However, to keep in your EDC bag for occasional use, these…

Pros
  • ★Handy pen-style design with convenient pocket clip, Knurled aluminum handle provides maximum control and comfort.
Cons
  • The pen may be difficult to see in bright or direct sunlight

Lifetime supply for most

With 2 scribes and extra tips, I don't think I'll ever have to buy these again, unless I lose them. I am able to be as precise as I need.

Pros
  • ‎Magnet
Cons
  • The magnet may interrupt the function of pacemakers or other medical devices

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The collet is a little loose

It works great! It will scribe visible lines on aluminum, stainless, mild, or hardened steel. The only complaint I have is that on one of the scribes the volley that holds the tungsten in is a little loose even fully tightened so I’ve almost lost the tungsten a few times

Pros
  • ‎6 PACK
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide tip may erode over time with certain chemicals or compounds

Very sharp! in my review

This product is a lot finer than I'd anticipated. It will come in handy in the future. Very sharp. Seems like it's made specifically for marking very hard surfaces. I'm using it on a wood plank and I don't need or want such precision right now and it isn't serving a purpose yet. The strange thing is that I'm glad I bought this two piece set. Makes me want to find a use for it.This would even work for a mechanic.

Pros
  • ‎极细
Cons
  • The pen may be difficult to use on vertical surfaces

Fair quality best in my review

In spite of the fact that this is a Chinese product, they have way better quality than the last one I bought from Harbor Freight Tools. The end tips are a bit smaller and shorter than expected based on the photos in the listing but they are tightly fitted into the holder and require pliers to remove. The holder seems to be nicely machined and feels good in the hand.

Pros
  • ★Permanent magnet on the etching tool picks up small parts and retrieves steel chips from hard-to-reach places
Cons
  • The magnet may cause interference with magnetic-based data storage devices

Great product best in my review

It was perfect for what I needed, good quality, cheap, and I’ve already gone through losing one too, but the replacement tips and holder will last for months and months more

Pros
  • just recieved these....and my tests have resulted in nice lines.
Cons
  • The pen may not work well on oil or grease-covered surfaces

Good scribe, Magnet can get annoying

I bought this for my Jewelry class and it works great for marking stuff to saw. When trying to store it in the tool box the magnet likes to pick everything up with it. Normally I like magnets but for this application it kind of sucks. I used my torch to release the loc tight and removed it easy enough.

Pros
  • Got it to scribe a message on black painted knives. Works well, easy to use!
Cons
  • The clip may scratch or damage delicate surfaces, such as glass or ceramics

Excellent value good results!

I do a lot of sheet metal cutting and bending for race car bodies. Before buying these scribes, I would use a sharpie or a pencil and never had any consistency. Problem solved and wish o would have done this years earlier!

Pros
  • These work you do have to press very hard an go over them several times to use on keys
Cons
  • The pen may be difficult to see on dark or opaque surfaces

Tungsten scribe - my new review

Nice little scribes - wish I had had them when I was still working ( machinist), but really handy in the home shop. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • The cost was half compared to USA product even though it was half I would have Bought American instead
Cons
  • The magnet may pick up unwanted debris and impede the pen's function

Pros
  • ‎1.6 ounces
Cons
  • The clip may be difficult to detach from some surfaces

Good scribes for cheap

These two scribes work fine and for the price can not be beat. I recommend them for use where pencil marks are too fat. I bought blue layout fluid also and the combo is the way to go.

Pros
  • Good value
Cons
  • The magnet may cause static electricity buildup in certain environments

Pen good; shipping package terrible.

The engraving pen was wonderful - just what I was looking for. But the packaging was awful! It was not completely sealed on the end so if the pen's package was any smaller, it would have slipped right out of the bag! Thankfully it didn't.

Pros
  • ‎IMT-8806
Cons
  • The tungsten carbide tip may produce uneven lines or dots

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Know what to use it for.

We use these to scribe cut marks on steel that we have put marking dye on. They work well for marking out knife design and cut marks. The quality is good and the price is great. Will buy again.

Pros
  • ★Each Engraving pen comes with a chuck for reversing tungsten carbide point when not in use.
Cons
  • The clip may not fit securely on some surfaces, risking loss of the pen

The scribers shipped quickly, are as described, and are of overall good quality. I liked that each scribe came with an extra tip, though I suspect it will take a very long time to wear out the tip already installed. I also liked that each tip had a plastic cover over it so the user won't accidently get punctured by the sharp point. The only negative I noticed is that while it is still serviceable, the chuck in one of the scribes did not grip the tip as tightly as I think it should have (the tip

Pros
  • Light weight but reasonably sturdy. Excellent for the money.
Cons
  • The magnet may not be strong enough to hold the pen to some metal surfaces

They're great: my feedback

I am writing this review for my boyfriend. We share this account and he was the one who ordered this. First off. This scribe is pointy as hell. So be careful when taking it out of the package. These little guys shipped in record time. The packaging was standard bubble envelope. The plastic package was not damaged in any way and inside the package the scribes had little plastic tubes covering the points so you do not prick yourself. They both worked really well. We immediately got scratch happy…

Pros
  • worked as they should.
Cons
  • The pen may become clogged with certain materials, such as paint
