I bought this grater specifically for the planer blade. The first thing I cut were boiled potatoes. Needless to say, the blade came loose from the grater clip. Yes I could still use it if I held it with my finger from the inside of the grater. Very disappointing. The rest of the grater is wonderful. I love it. I would say 40.00 is a big investment. I am returning mine for another. I know it was most likely a bad production as all of Rachel's instruments are amazing. Be careful with the side of the planer. And as someone else mentioned, finger guards don't really work. Doesn't hold food. That's why I give 3 stars.
