I saw Rachel using this on her show and bought it. I love the trash can that picks up what you rub against and you have more leverage using it on your side. ATTENTION - this guy is an ARROW! Like a mandolin; not like a grater. I don't even grate cheddar without protection. I removed part of my thumb the first week and part of my toe a week later. Julien is doing a great job. Love it. Highly recommended, but beware!

I am disappointed in this Racheal Ray product. The material used is not good and durable. I am surprised that she is behind a product that is only meant to be used for such a short period of time for the price, not even a month. I used to buy cheaper ones and they held me until I ordered these which was 10 years. very disappointing. Don't buy a product because of the name behind it, it's not a good idea because it might be the cheapest material.

I have a lot of Rachel Ray kitchen items. Each is excellent, clearly designed by someone who cooks. This rub box is an example of that. It's the best you can find. The catch box is fantastic, the tool is heavy and well made and the blades are really sharp. The finger guard has a really interesting design and works great. RR gadgets tend to be a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. This grater is highly recommended, but be careful. The blades are really sharp. Use finger guard.

I bought this grater specifically for the planer blade. The first thing I cut were boiled potatoes. Needless to say, the blade came loose from the grater clip. Yes I could still use it if I held it with my finger from the inside of the grater. Very disappointing. The rest of the grater is wonderful. I love it. I would say 40.00 is a big investment. I have many Rachael Ray products, many of which have lasted over 10 years. Durable, stylish, practical and thoughtfully designed. When I saw it I had to have it. I could get rid of my separate shredder and mandolin and the bucket inside would neatly hold any cut/chopped/shredded food.
