I bought this controller to use with a band I bought a few years ago. The order of the colored pins on the strip did not match the order of the colored pins on the controller. It would have been a real pain and if I had known before I bought it I probably wouldn't have bought it. I'm glad I didn't notice as it wasn't an issue and it's a great controller with great support. (in my experience) Some time after I bought this controller I received an email from the seller asking how I was doing. I haven't even installed it yet (I'm starting to knock out my "love" list). But something in that email got me queued for color order issues. I asked about this and got a response from the seller with instructions on how to match the pens to the order of the color channels on my strip. After opening the box, I noticed that the instructions that came with the controller also included setup instructions. PIN order. The instructions overall weren't the clearest for me, but I played around a bit and it wasn't too difficult to understand. I liked the smartphone app and adjusted brightness, color and a few other color changing modes. I'm seriously considering installing more color bars that this controller will control for the musical response feature. Sounds like a fun party to me. (maybe not everyone, but I find it funny). To be honest the killer feature was the integration with my Google Home. Once all the hardware was in place, I leisurely went through the instructions and the phone app to learn the features, and after about 30 minutes I solved the color pen order issue, installed and paired the smartphone app and controller. connected to my Google Home. Now I control this light almost exclusively with my voice. FYI, if you need to change the order of the colors, turning off the device will not restore the factory settings. There seems to be a setting in the firmware that doesn't require power. The instructions aren't the best, and the smartphone app isn't the prettiest. But in terms of functionality, reliability (so far I've installed it for about 2 months) and of course in terms of cost in dollars. This is a great controller. As my to-do list goes on, I'm sure I'll be buying more.
